Nasta, Vincent




Riverhead High School teacher Vincent Nasta of Wading River died Aug. 17 in a plane crash at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, N.Y. He was 46.

Born in Brooklyn Nov. 11, 1961, to Vincent and Carol (Isgro) Nasta, he grew up in Shirley and graduated from William Floyd High School in 1979. He received a bachelor's degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1983 and a master's degree in education from Dowling College.

He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Larkin, on July 5, 1986, at St. Jude R.C. Church in Mastic Beach.

Mr. Nasta joined the Riverhead faculty in 1991 and taught computer graphics and advanced placement art. He also illustrated children's books. Among his hobbies were playing the guitar and flying.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years and his brothers John, of Brooklyn, Joseph, of Ridge, and Nicholas, of Wilton, N.Y.

Family will receive visitors Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home, Riverhead. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church in Wading River. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.
