NO SNOW DAY: Shelter Island School students were dismissed for the long holiday break Friday, December 19, right on time at 2:30 p.m., despite the winter storm that blew in all afternoon. The heavy flakes made for perfect snowball fodder as kids exited the building but these students, shepherded by crossing guard Christine Gross, kept their shoulders to the wind and their band instruments out of the line of fire.
